The printed programme has one unfixable flaw: it is a photograph of what you believed the running order would be, taken at whatever moment you sent the file to the printer. A club withdraws, a rotation swaps, a level gets merged — and every copy in the hall is now quietly wrong, including the one the announcer is reading from.
The digital programme is the same document, except it's a web page, it's on everyone's phone, and it's right.
A link and a QR code, instead of a print run
Open the Programme tab on any competition and you get a shareable link plus a QR code for it. Put the link in your entry confirmation email, print the QR on a poster by the door, or both. There's nothing to install and no login — it opens like any other web page, on any phone.
When you change the running order, the programme changes. There is no publish step to forget.
Parents find their own gymnast
This is the bit that saves you being asked. The programme opens with a search box — Find your gymnast — name or bib number — and typing either jumps straight to that gymnast's place in the running order, with their club, level and age group alongside. A parent who arrives late and wants to know whether they've missed the vault can answer that themselves in about four seconds.
Mocked-up recreation of the public programme page — search, running order, and a live count of how many apparatus each gymnast has been scored on.
In a multi-round competition there's a round filter across the top, so a coach watching Round 2 isn't scrolling past Round 1 all afternoon. And as the day progresses each gymnast picks up a quiet score count — three of four apparatus done — which answers the other question you'd otherwise be asked fifty times.
It's your programme, not ours
A programme is partly a document and partly a thank-you letter, so the things that make it yours are all editable:
- Your organisation's logo at the top, the same one that appears on your leaderboard, live scoreboard and printed start lists.
- An intro or notices block under the competition name — thank yous to volunteers, your photography policy, parking, whatever normally goes on the inside front cover.
- Suggested timings, set per round, for the clubs who want a rough idea of when to arrive.
- A footer and sponsor list, each sponsor optionally carrying a link through to their own site — which is worth considerably more to a sponsor than a name printed on paper that goes in the bin.
There's also a tick box to show a link through to the public leaderboard, so one QR code on the door gets a parent to both the running order and the live results.
The programme reads from the same running order your judges and announcer are working from. It cannot drift out of step with the competition, because there is no separate copy of it to drift.
What it costs
The digital programme is included with Starter and above — so if you're on any paid plan it's already available on your next competition, and it replaces a print bill rather than adding to one.
